What were you given permission to consider possible for yourself?

How do you try to find balance between the old ways and the new?

Immigrant & Generational Trauma

Being from an immigrant family and navigating life between the Mexico and U.S. border, I’m committed to offering mental health services that take into account the unique experiences and backgrounds of all immigrants.

Drastic changes in your surroundings can shock your system and a multitude of hardships arise when adapting to a new country. Separation from loved ones, language barriers, and discrimination have a profound impact on physical and emotional wellbeing. When these things happen, we feel grief, hopelessness, shame, doubt, and debilitating fear.

Meanwhile, the obstacles feel never ending; difficulties in securing employment, accessing healthcare, child care, education, and transportation resources, and integrating into new communities. These obstacles can contribute further to feelings of isolation and insecurity, exacerbating mental and emotional strain.Even with all that is heavy and hard, you may find yourself both laughing and crying when adjusting to a new country.

I’m here to support you in exploring your goals, make sense of what you’ve experienced, grieve what was lost, and help you find balance between your roots and wings.
